What size bolts are needed to secure the center 2 person seat for an 80 Vanagon?  I got the seat, I got the rails, I ain't got the bolts.

On such a general application you are not dependent on finding the original metric nut and bolt; unless the bolt threads into a welded nut.  I would find the largest diameter bolt which freely fits through the holes and use the SAE version with a good hard grade as these must be able to anchor the seat safely in the event of a collision.  Back them with large diameter washers which would resist being pulled through the sheet metal of the floor.  Use SAE as they provide better coarse grade threads over metric.  I always find that metric tend toward a thread which is too fine.
I'd rather have a partial bottle in front of me than a partial frontal lobotomy.
