anyone ever have an issue with their starter not turning over the engine???
i can here my starter spin but not engage with the flywheel its just a cheap 12v autozone starter it has been on the car for 8 months or so. im thinking the gear on the starter isnt throwing out of the teeth are cheap and busted off. anyone have this problem before?

Pull it off and put 12 volts to it. Check the solenoid and see if it is throwing out the little bendix drive (the teeth that engage the ring gear) if it is then the drive is faulty.

problem solved! brass bushing in the case was all wobbled out. kinda ground down the teeth on my flywheel a 32nd of an inch or so. new starter under warranty and new bushing starts like a champ now. new flywheel in future lol
