Hi,

The type 4s were never sold in Australia..

but RHD versions were sold in the UK , New Zealand and New Guinea..

the type 4 engine is the same as used in the 1800-2000cc type 2 Buses etc...

Not sure on the gearbox...

the 412 is a Very rare Volkswagen... thses days...

I have a book with photos of VWs from all over the world, but the author had trouble finding a standard roadworthy 412 in the UK, and that was about 20 years ago...

I know that fiberglass fenders were available in the UK many years ago....  whether they still are available???

probably not, if they are that rare...

Best of luck with one of My favorite VWs...

Hi Wayne
I believe it was called the squareback..
in Australia it would have been called a station wagen...
in the UK it would have been called an ESTATE car..

these cars produced in 2 & 4 doors were very expensive which is why they were not sold in Australia, although I did see 2 or 3 of them back then.. imported from New Guinea or New Zealand.
