The wiper switch that I have in the 70' beetle is broken.. It does turn o/o the wiper motor.  The center shaft is loose and I think it just needs to be replaced.  There are hoses going to it.  Can someone please explain how this works with the fluid? There's no pump on the fluid tank.

If I install a 12V tank kit w/separate swx, will this affect the replacement of the other swx?

Wiper switches should have a button that runs through the center. Air is pumped from the spair tire to the bottle which pushes fluid through the lines to the back of the switch. Push the button and the valve in the switch opens and fluid is pumped to the sprayer by the windshield. If you want to make it electric you will have to install a extra switch and pump.
